FAQ
-
Why doesn’t the available quantity update when I place an order?
Our inventory is managed manually, so the quantities shown on the website don’t update automatically. Orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis, which means that even if a product appears available, it may sell out before your order is processed. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

What makes Maison Ina breads different?
Every bread and pastry is crafted with care using traditional techniques and thoughtfully chosen ingredients. We believe that great baked goods start with quality, and we take the time to bake items that bring joy and comfort with every bite.
-
Where do you source your ingredients?
We carefully select high-quality ingredients from trusted local farms and stores to create breads with authentic flavors and freshness. Our focus is on using honest, simple ingredients that make every bread special.
-
Are your breads nut-free?
While many of our breads do not contain nuts as an ingredient, they are made in a home kitchen where nuts, soy, wheat, and eggs are present.
We do our best to prevent cross-contact — for example, nuts are stored separately and not used on the baking surfaces — but we cannot guarantee a nut-free environment.
If you have a severe allergy, please take this into consideration when placing your order.
Thank you for your understanding!
-
Do you offer gluten-free or dairy-free option?
At the moments, we do not offer gluten-free or dairy-free option.
All of our breads include wheat flour and may contain dairy, eggs, and honey.
We focus on baking with wholesome, traditional ingredients.

Will you be selling all the breads and pastries I see on the website?
Not all items shown are available for regular purchase. Some are seasonal, made only by request, or shared just to give a glimpse of what I enjoy baking. If something catches your eyes, don’t hesitate to ask. I’d love to hear what you’re drawn to.
-
Do you have a minimum order?
Not at all! Whether you're trying just one or picking up a boxful, every order is handmade with care. We’re happy to bake for you, big or small.

Why are Maison Ina breads priced higher than some other bakeries?
Our breads are handmade in small batches using premium, carefully sourced ingredients. We prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring that each loaf delivers exceptional taste and freshness that you can truly savor.

Can I cancel my order or get a refund?

Can I change my order after placing it?
We totally understand — small mix-ups can happen!
If you need to adjust a quantity or switch to a different item, please contact us as soon as possible.
We accept minor changes up to 48 hours before your scheduled pickup time.
Please note: Changes do not include full cancellations or refunds, which we’re unable to offer. Thank you for your understanding and support of small-batch baking!
-
Why can't I pick up my order the same day?
Good bread takes time, sometimes more than you’d think! We bake everything fresh and by hand, with lots of love. That means we plan each batch based on the orders we receive, so nothing goes to waste. We appreciate your understanding and support!
-
How long do your breads stay fresh?
It depends on the type of bread.
Delicate items like croissants and sweet breads are best enjoyed within 1–2 days of pick-up.
Heartier loaves like Cloud Loaf or Maison Rye can stay fresh for 3–4 days when stored properly.
Since we don’t use preservatives, we always recommend enjoying everything while it’s fresh. -
How should I store the bread?
Our breads and pastries are best enjoyed the same day you pick them up — that’s when their flavor and texture shine the most.
But if you can’t enjoy them right away, here’s how to keep them at their best:
For short-term storage, wrap each item individually in plastic wrap or store it in an airtight container at room temperature.
Keep your bread in a cool, dry place — and avoid refrigerating, as it tends to dry out the bread faster.
For longer storage, you can freeze most items (see below for tips!). -
Can I store the bread in the refrigerator?
It might be tempting, but we don’t recommend refrigerating bread.
Cold temperatures speed up staling and can dry it out quickly.Instead, if you're not planning to eat it within a couple of days, we recommend freezing it for best freshness.
(See “Can I freeze the bread?” for tips on how to do it!) -
Can I freeze the bread?
Absolutely! While we recommend enjoying your bread within 1–2 days for the best taste and texture, freezing is a great way to preserve freshness if you can’t enjoy it right away.
For best results:
* Slice or portion the bread before freezing.
* Wrap pieces individually and store them in an airtight freezer-safe bag.
* For soft loaves like Cloud Loaf, avoid storing in the original bag — it traps air and can cause dryness. Instead, freeze in small portions (1–2 slices at a time) for easy reheating.
Most breads stay fresh in the freezer for up to two weeks.
Depending on the type and storage, they may still be good for up to one month — just make sure they’re well-wrapped and protected from air.To reheat:
*For sliced loaves like Cloud Loaf: Toast straight from frozen at 395°F (200°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
*For croissants and pastries: Let thaw at room temperature for 30 minutes to 2 hours, then bake at 395°F for about 5 minutes. Let rest for 5 minutes to enjoy a crisp, flaky texture.
Freezing properly means you can enjoy Maison Ina’s handmade goodness anytime — even on your busiest days.

What is a "Cottage Food Operation"?
In Virginia, a Cottage Food Operation refers to a home-baked food business that allows individuals to prepare and sell certain low risk foods, like baked goods, jams, candies, and dried herbs, made in their home kitchen without a commercial license or inspection. These foods can only be sold directly to consumers (not through stores or restaurants) and must be properly labeled with ingredients, allergen info, and a statement that they were made in a home kitchen not inspected by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. (VDACS).
